Deodhani dance exponent Lalit Ojah dead

 GUWAHATI, Oct 21 Lalit Chandra Nath Ojah, a renowned Sukanani Ojah and a Deodhani dance exponent died at a Mangaldoi private hospital around 4-40 pm today. He was 91.

 Lalit Chandra Nath Ojah, who was one of the leading Sukanani Ojahs of the State, was a recipient of the 1983 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 2012 Sangeet Natak Akademi Rabindranath Tagore Ratna Award, State Government's Artiste Pension and Darangi Kala-Kristi Sangha's Sangeetacharya title, had made immense contributions to the fields of Sukanani Ojapali and Deodhani dance the two remarkable traditional performing art forms of the State.

Ojah had been suffering from asthma for the past about 12 years and today around 11 am he was admitted to hospital.

He leaves behind his wife, three sons, two daughters and a host of relatives.
