Noted writer Haricharan Boro passes away

 KOKRAJHAR, Nov 30 - Eminent Bodo writer and Sahitya Academy Award winner for children’s literature (Bal Sahitya Puruskar), Haricharan Boro breathed his last on Tuesday morning at his own residence at Bagansali in Kokrajhar after prolonged illness. He was 70.

 It may be mentioned that Boro contributed towards the promotion of children’s literature in the Boro language. He authored six very popular books. Haricharan Boro retired as Joint Director, Economics & Statistics, Assam.

Various organisations and literature lovers have expressed deep shock over his untimely demise. He is survived by his only son. His wife had passed away in a serial bomb blast at Kokrajhar bazaar.
