GUWAHATI, Sept 25 - City-based conservation NGO Aaranyak on Thursday received the Sansad Adarsha Gram Yojana-Good Practices Award from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, during an event held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The award was conferred for ‘Traditional Community Managed Irrigation System in Subankhata, Baksa district, Assam,’ jointly to Aaranyak and the Uttar Ancholik Dong Bundh Committee (UADBC), Subankhata.
Aaranyak’s Bipul Das received the award from Birendra Singh, Union Minister of Rural Development. Aaranyak and UADBC are also attending a national workshop on ‘Good Practices in Rural Development Sector,’ in Bhopal.
