GUWAHATI, Sept 25 - To cater to the increasing demand for berths by passengers during the ensuing Durga Puja holidays, the Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to run seven trips of Puja special trains from Kamakhya to Anand Vihar (New Delhi) and another seven trips from Anand Vihar (New Delhi) to Kamakhya to clear the rush.
The 02503 will leave Kamakhya every Wednesday at 10 am on October 14, 21 and 28, and November 4, 11, 18 and 25 and arrive at Anand Vihar (New Delhi) station every Thursday.
During the return journey, the 02504 will leave Anand Vihar (New Delhi) station every Friday at 5.15 am on October 16, 23 and 30, and November 6, 13, 20 and 27 to arrive at the Kamakhya station every Saturday.
The train will run via Goalpara town, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Barauni, Chhapra, Varanasi, Lucknow and Moradabad stations on both the ways. It will have four AC-2 tier and ten AC-3 tier coaches.
In addition, the NFR has augmented some long-distance trains by adding additional coaches on a temporary basis to clear the extra rush during the holiday period.
One AC 3 tier coach each has been temporarily added to six trains, including the 12519 Lokmanya Tilak-Kamakhya Weekly Express on nominated days till November 29, the 12520 Kamakhya-Lokmanya Tilak Weekly Express till November 26, the 12551 Yesvantpur-Kamakhya Weekly Express till November 28, the 12552 Kamakhya-Yesvantpur Weekly Express till November 25, the 12501 Guwahati-New Delhi Tri-weekly Express till November 3 and the 12502 New Delhi-Guwahati Tri-weekly Express till November 4.
Besides, one sleeper class coach each has been temporarily added to six trains. They are the 15905 Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Weekly Express on nominated days till December 3, the 15906 Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Weekly Express till November 28, the 15933 Dibrugarh-Amritsar Weekly Express till November 24, the 15934 Amritsar-Dibrugarh Weekly Express till November 27, the 12525 Kolkata-Dibrugarh Weekly Express till November 25 and the 12526 Dibrugarh-Kolkata Weekly Express till November 24.
