|2 more virus deaths in Meghalaya|
SHILLONG, Sept 23 - Two more people have succumbed to COVID-19 and 170 new cases were registered in Meghalaya in the past 24 hours.
One of the deceased is a 75-year-old male who passed away at the NEIGRIHMS here today. The other COVID-19 victim is a 68-year-old female who passed away at the Ampati Civil Hospital. The death toll has now risen to 42 in the State.
Meanwhile, 117 of the new cases were reported from East Khasi Hills, 37 from Ri-Bhoi, five each from West Garo Hills and North Garo Hills districts, and three cases each from West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills districts. The number of active cases has risen to 2,060 with the new cases.
In the past 24 hours, 153 patients have recovered and these patients were from East Khasi Hills (113), Ri-Bhoi (17), West Garo Hills (17), South West Garo Hills (3), East Jaintia Hills (2) and South Garo Hills (1).
