Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Sept 23 - The Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL) conferred the Young Achievers Award (YAA) for Entrepreneurship to Nayan Saikia, Assam’s very own ‘Pad Man’, at the Northeast Youth Conclave 2018 held at Don Bosco School at Panbazar here on Saturday.

The award was presented by Jishnu Dev Varma, Deputy Chief Minister, Tripura, and George Chacko, Head of Corporate Affairs, North East, Dalmia Cement.

Presenting the award to Nayan Saikia, Chacko stated that Nayan is an inspiration to many who hesitate to take risks.

“Leaving a lucrative job and starting a business with the intention of serving society is a tough decision. We at Dalmia Cement take this opportunity to laud Nayan’s spirit and his achievement by conferring him the Young Achievers Award,” he said.

Sharing his thoughts on receiving the award, Nayan Saikia said that the award answered all those questions which were raised during the initial period of his starting as an entrepreneur.

“It encourages people like me and the coming generation to work hard,” he said.

The conclave saw various delegates from across the country deliberating on many socio-economic, political and cultural issues affecting the North-east.
