Arunachal virus tally surges to 7,595

 ITANAGAR, Sept 22 - The number of COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh has mounted to 7,595 with the detection of 210 new cases on Monday, a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here stated.

 On the day, the State also sent home 235 patients following their recovery. So far, 5,643 people have recuperated from the infection. Thirteen persons have also succumbed to the virus.

The State’s active COVID-19 cases stand at 1,939, the bulletin said.

Of the fresh cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex reported 101 infections. The State capital was followed by Changlang, Pakke Kessang, Lower Siang and West Siang with 18, 12, 11 and 10 cases respectively. Papum Pare and East Siang recorded nine positive cases each, while Tawang found eight cases and Longding seven.

Upper Subansiri reported five cases, as Upper Siang, West Kameng, Kurung Kumey and Namsai detected three cases each.

Leparada, Lower Subansiri and East Kameng found two cases each and one each came from Lower Dibang Valley and Anjaw.

As many as 181 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 29 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Of the discharged cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 50 cured cases, closely followed by Papum Pare with 48. East Siang released 40 positive cases, West Siang 36, Lower Dibang Valley 16 and Changlang 10,

Lower Subansiri saw off nine recovered patients, West Kameng seven, Upper Siang six, Namsai and Kurung Kumey three each, and Pakke Kessang two. Tawang, Tirap, Anjaw, Longding and Siang sent home one patient each.
