Tripura’s COVID death toll climbs to 239

 AGARTALA, Sept 20 - Four more persons died of COVID-19 in Tripura in the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll has risen to 239 in the State.

 The State has recorded 39 COVID deaths in a week, but the number of new infections is less than total recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Of total 522 new cases detected yesterday, maximum 156 were reported from West Tripura district, including Agartala. Dhalai district was in the second position with 80 cases.

A total of 645 COVID patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The State’s recovery rate is 68.83 percent which is below the national average but the State is ahead in terms of rate of infection (6.09 percent), fatality rate (1.11 percent) and tests per million (88,334). At present, the State has 6,455 active cases and most of them have been placed under home isolation.
