Arunachal reports 221 new COVID cases

 ITANAGAR, Sept 20 - The COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh continued to rise as 221 more people tested positive for the virus on Saturday, taking its tally to 7,250.

 On the other hand, as many as 140 cases were discharged on the day following their recovery from the ailment, thereby pushing the number of recovered cases to 5,280.

The State’s active cases stand at 1957, while 13 persons have so far succumbed to the infection, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

Of the new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex continued to be the most affected with 101 infections. Fourty-one cases reported from paid quarantine center, Itanagar, 24 from TRIHMS Naharlagun, 20 from Banderdewa check gate, 11 from CCC-SOA, Zoo area, Itanagar, three from SQF Lekhi and two detected at Naharlagun Helipad.

Changlang reported 19 positive cases, Papum Pare 18, West Siang 15 and Longding 13. Seven cases came from East Siang, six each from Lower Dibang Valley, West Kameng and Lower Subansiri.

Four cases were detected in East Kameng, and three each in Pakke-Kessang, Namsai and Tirap, while Upper Subansiri, Upper Siang and Lohit recorded two cases each, and Kurung Kumey one. 184 of the total cases were asymptomatic and 27 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.
