“The recent floods affected the farmers of West Garo Hills to a large extent. The poor farmers are now facing hardships to run their families, so considering the gravity of the situation, the Chief Minister should grant relief and a special package to the farmers to mitigate the situation,” Rahman said in the letter.

According to information, around two lakh people were affected by the recent floods in both West and South West Garo Hills districts. Paddy worth crores of rupees were also destroyed and now COVID pandemic has worsened the situation further.
