Arunachal virus cases cross 7,000 mark

 ITANAGAR, Sept 19 - The number of COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh has crossed the 7,000 mark with a spike of 183 new infections on Friday.

 The State’s current caseload stands at 7,005, including 1,886 active cases, 5,106 discharged and 13 death cases, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here late last evening.

The Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 93 of the new cases, followed by Papum Pare (32) and Lower Dibang Valley (10). Kurung Kumey recorded seven cases and Upper Subansiri six. Five cases each were found in Changlang, Lower Subansiri and Lohit, while three each were reported from Tawang, East Siang, West Kameng and Longding. Two cases each were registered in Pakke-Kessang, Anjaw and Upper Siang, whereas Lower Siang and Tirap recorded one case each.

Among the new cases, 145 were found asymptomatic and 38 symptomatic, the bulletin added. Meanwhile, 171 COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals following their recovery from the ailment.
