8,000 km roads under PMGSY in State

 GUWAHATI, Sept 18 – Around 8,000 kilometres of new roads will be constructed in Assam under the PMGSY within the next three years. This was disclosed by PWD Minister Ajanta Neog at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to review the progress of implementation of the PMGSY in the State.

The Minister revealed that 2,000 kilometres of roads would be constructed within this year and the work would start in October. The Chief Minister said that roads play a vital role in improving the economy of the State and directed the PWD to ensure timely completion of the roads.
