 GUWAHATI, Sept 18 – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh arrived in the capital city today on a two-day visit to participate in a meet of party representatives from the Northeastern States.

Singh, addressing the party representatives, emphasized the need for finding a solution to all the burning issues of the region. He said that the BJP leadership always gave priority to development of the North East and on returning to power would work for resolving the vexed issues of the region.

This crucial meet also dwelt at length on the coming Lok Sabha election and the party’s strategy to woo the electorate. Singh stressed the need to strengthen the organisational base of the party at the grass root.

Senior BJP leaders like SS Ahluwalia, Bijoya Chakraborty, Tapir Gao and others were present in the meet.
