Manipur CM launches infrastructure projects

 IMPHAL, Sept 17 - The Imphal View tower on the Langol Hills in the Manipur capital will be completed soon, while ropeway projects connecting Thanga to Chaoba Hills at Loktak Lake, and Langol to Marjing Hill on the outskirts of Imphal, will also be executed.

This was disclosed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh while speaking at the inaugural function of various infrastructure projects in Imphal East district on Monday. Ministers Karam Shyam, N Kayasii and Th Shyamkumar also attended the programme.

Other projects including the Tribal Working Womenís Hostel at Chingmeirong, Nature Learning Centre and Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority Data Centre at the Forest Office, Mantripukhri, as well as digital payment services and the National Generic Document Registration System, were also launched.

Stating that the Government has given loans to 600-700 entrepreneurs under the Startup Policy, Biren Singh said the State would distribute soft loans at a programme at the City Convention Centre here on September 20.

He said that the Chief Ministerís Manipur Green Mission (CMMGM) was launched to protect forests and make Manipur green, and expressed satisfaction that 267 villages of Ukhrul district have come forward to set aside 5 to 10 acres of land in every village for forest conservation under the CMMGM.
