|2 more virus deaths in Arunachal|
ITANAGAR, Sept 16 - Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday registered two more COVID-19 casualties as two patients, including a woman, with co-morbidities succumbed to the infection. With this, the virus death toll has risen to 13 in the State.
Both the deaths were reported from Changlang district, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. He stated that a 63-year-old woman hailing from Miao, who also suffered from chronic asthma and gastritis, died on the way to Pasighat from Tezu for better treatment.
The second patient, a 52-year-old man hailing from Kharsang who was terminally ill, died at his home, Dr Jampa said.
Meanwhile, the State has recorded 170 new positive cases, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 6,466, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here late last evening.
As many as 127 patients were released from various health facilities across the State following their recovery. Currently, there are 1,795 active cases, as 4,658 patients have already recovered from the ailment so far.
Of the fresh cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the maximum of 87 cases. Papum Pare detected 17 cases. West Kameng recorded 15 cases. Changlang has got 10 new cases and seven cases each came from Tawang and Lower Subansiri. Lower Dibang Valley and East Siang reported five cases each, and West Siang and Longding four each. Namsai, Tirap, Lohit and Upper Subansiri found two cases each and Pakke-Kessang one.
Of the newly infected patients, 140 were found to be asymptomatic and 30 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.
