DU techno-cultural fest from Sept 19
Staff correspondent
DIBRUGARH, Sept 16 – The Dibrugarh University is all set to celebrate its annual techno-cultural and management festival, Auxesis, for the fourth time. The four-day extravaganza will commence from September 19 and conclude on September 22.

Addressing media persons at the conference hall of the DUIET, Dibrugarh University, Kaushik Karan Bora, the student convener, said that Auxesis’14 got a perfect start with ‘Light a smile – a social initiative programme,’ ‘Dibrugarh Run – a running event’ and the eye donation awareness camp, ‘Nakshatra,’ which was organised at the Moran Blind School.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Technology Built in Brotherhood.’ The objective is to promote technology and innovative ideas among the masses and provide a platform to budding engineers, entrepreneurs, innovators and technocrats of the region to showcase their talent, skills and knowledge in a fiercely competitive age.

The entire festival has been divided into five major modules – technical, cultural, management, school module and gaming. Several robotics events will also be organised under the technical module. This year’s prime attractions include ‘Trivial Paradox’ – a national-level open quiz competition, ‘Ransack’ – a rock show competition, ‘Kallisteia’ – a fashion show and a host of other competitions.

Anil Kumar Gupta, professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, will take part in a webinar with the students and Akash Gautam, noted motivational speaker, will deliver a lecture during the festival. An inter-university science competition named Exhivilla will also be organised in consonance with the theme.

The major sponsors for this year’s festival are ONGC, NERIM, BCPL, State Bank of India, IOCL and others, said Kaushik Karan Bora.
