Dhemaji flood situation grim

 DHEMAJI, Sept 16 The flood situation in Dhemaji remained grim with the Jiadhal and other tributaries flowing above the danger marks with incessant rainfall for the last six days at the upper reaches of neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh.

The surging waters of the river Jiadhal have breached embankment near Kekuri Mising gaon on September 12 last and caused devastation in Jiadhal and West Dhemaji areas for the fifth consecutive day. More than 45 villages in the two areas are still under water.

On the otherhand a tributary of the Ronganadi breached a culvert at Bhebeli in Gugamukh on NH 52 on September 14 creating havoc in about 30 villages in Bhebeli gaon Panchayat under Gugamukh revenue circle.
