|Online prog on Alzheimer’s, related disorders on Sept 21|
GUWAHATI, Sept 15 - The month of September is observed as World Alzheimer’s Awareness month with September 21 being World Alzheimer’s Day. To mark the occasion, Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI), Guwahati Chapter is conducting an online public awareness programme on September 21 at 7 pm over Zoom VC platform.
According to a press release, experts in the field of dementia and geriatrics will speak about healthy ageing and management of dementia under the current circumstances.
The speakers for the session will be Dr Ajaya Mahanta, retired HoD, Department of Neurology, Gauhati Medical College (GMC); Dr Dipesh Bhagabati, retired HoD, Department of Psychiatry, GMC; Dr Neelakshi Mahanta HoD, medical oncology, State Cancer Institute, GMC; Dr Ankumoni Saikia, professor of community medicine and Registrar of Srimanta Shankardev University of Health Sciences and an official from the State Department of Social Welfare.
It will be an interactive session wherein all participants can raise their queries to be answered by the experts. The session is intended for elderly people, members of family who are care givers to people with dementia or any other age-related ailments and also the general public.
