Staff reporter
GUWAHATI, Sept 14 – A joint delegation of eight organisations including Karbi Students’ Union (KSU), Sadou Tiwa Chatra Santha, Dimoria Zila Tribal Sangha and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba-Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today demanded a CBI inquiry into the Jogdal murder case.

The organisations expressed its displeasure at the ongoing investigation being carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The delegation also submitted a memorandum to Director General of Assam Police Jayanta Narayan Choudhury, seeking a probe into the alleged murder of Arjun Bordoloi, one of the prime accused in the Jogdal murder case.

In a joint press conference organised here today, members of the organisations claimed that the ongoing investigation into the Jogdal murder case is being influenced by political forces, which has now necessitated a probe by the CBI.

“It has been almost three years Harakanta Doloi and five others of his family were brutally killed by miscreants in Jogdal area under Sonapur police station but investigators have failed to identify the killer or the conspirators,” rued Dhruba Jyoti Medhi, general secretary, AJCYP (Dimoria).
