|Assaults on TE doctors, staff condemned|
GUWAHATI, Sept 14 – Indian Medical Association, Assam State Branch, has expressed concern over the growing incidents of assault on doctors and staff of tea garden hospitals in Assam. In a press release, the IMA branch cited a recent incident in which following a brought dead case in Diffloo TE Hospital of Golaghat district the innocent doctor and staff of the hospital were assaulted.
The IMA branch said, in the last two months such incidents had occurred in Betjan and Deodam TE Hospital of Tinsukia district and Barhat TE Hospital of Sivasagar district. In all these incidents, innocent doctors and hospital staff were victimized. The IMA branch has condemned these acts of vandalism in the strongest of terms and demanded that the culprits be brought to book immediately and stringent punishment meted out, the release added.
