No success can be expected without hard work: Sonowal

 NAGAON, Sept 13 - “When we read the poems of the great scholar, Anandaram Dhekial Phukon during our childhood, we dreamt of building the future of Assam in a different way. Through his write-ups, Phukon appealed to the coming generations to build a modern Assam”, said Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday afternoon here at Nagaon while addressing the open session held on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the diamond jubilee of Anandaram Dhekial Phukon College.

Sonowal reiterated that no success could be expected without hard work. Urging the students of the college to work hard as the motto of their life for building a better nation, he said that the student life is the golden period of time in life. If one can utilise this particular period of time in a proper manner, he or she definitely is destined for success. “Success through unfair means or shortcuts, is only for time being, is not permanent and cannot be guaranteed. But if one works hard, it will not only lead to success for the individual, but the entire society will be benefited, Sonowal said adding that work is worship, duty is the God. He said it that in today’s era of tough competition, one must prove himself to be the best through hard work.

Dr Surajit Bhagawati, the Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address while Arindam Kotoki, professor of the college anchored the entire function. Union Minister, Rameswar Teli, former Union Railway Minister for State, Rajen Gohain, MLAs Rupak Sarma, Dimbeswar Das, Deputy Commissioner, Jadav Saikia, Superintendent of Police, Shankar Brata Raimedhi were present.

Union Minister, Rameswar Teli in his speech stated that the Union government has decided to set up one food processing institution of the level of IITs in the state soon and the government was looking for around 50 bighas of land for the proposed institution.
