Assam players bag doubles titles

 JORHAT, Sept 13 - Shakshi Baruah and Tanishqa Patar of Assam won the girls U-16 doubles title in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament defeating the duo of Justina Borgohain and Harshita Borah 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 in the all Assam final at the Jorhat Tennis Club here today.

 In the boys U-16 doubles final, Promit Bordoloi of Assam and Ashish Parida of Odisha defeated Arunesh Bora and Andy Thaosen of Assam 6-1, 7-6 (5).

The boys and girls singles finals will be played tomorrow.

Semifinal results: (Boys U-16 singles) Shahir Farhaz (AS) bt Arunesh Bora (AS) 6-0, 6-1; Jeet Dutta (AS) bt Promit Bordoloi (AS) 6-1, 7-6 (4). (Boys U-16 doubles) Andy Thaosen (AS)/Arunesh Bora (AS) bt Anargha Ganguly (MH)/Wyatt O Brien (WB) 6-1, 1-6, 13-11; Promit Bordoloi (AS)/Ashish Parida (AS) bt Jeet Dutta (AS)/Shahir Farhaz (AS) 0-6, 6-4, 10-4.
