ITANAGAR, Sept 13 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today urged Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to create a separate IAS/IPS/IFS cadre for the State. He called on Union Home Minister in New Delhi to discuss various other issues pertaining to the Home department of the State. Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju also accompanied the CM during the meeting. Singh assured all possible help and support to the State Government.

Presently, the State is under the combined AGMUT cadre which is a joint cadre forArunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories.

The Chief Minister further said that in the absence of a dedicated bureaucracy, the State has not been able to progress. “Therefore, in the interest of development of the State, it is felt that a dedicated bureaucracy will bring continuity in administration. Separation of Arunachal Pradesh from AGMUT is, therefore, a genuine issue”, Khandu advocated.

He also advocated for a separate cadre for Arunachal Pradesh during his meeting with Minister of State for Personnel and Training, Jitendra Singh.

In the course of discussion with the DoNER Minister, Khandu referred to the matters pending with the Ministry of DoNER and requested him for early sanctioning of the projects. The MoS assured to look into the matter positively and promised to extend all possible assistance and support to Arunachal Pradesh.
