Amit Shah’s remarks on CAB opposed
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Sept 11 - The announcement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) conclave held here recently that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill-2016 (CAB) would be passed in the Parliament, has been opposed by the Assam Sangrami Mancha.

The Mancha, in a statement here today, has said that the announcement made by Shah is an act of mockery against the sentiments of the indigenous people of Assam.

The Mancha also praised the bold statements made by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma at the NEDA conclave. It has also described the silence maintained by the other leaders of the NE region as shameful. The Assam Sanmilita Mahasangha has also condemned Shah’s announcement as impudent.
