CORRESPONDENT KOKRAJHAR, Sept 11 – Congress MP and general secretary Rahul Gandhi today visited the districts of Kokrajhar and Chirang in BTAD and the adjoining Dhubri district and took stock of the relief and rehabilitation measures adopted by the government for the riot-hit people.

It is Rahul’s maiden visit to Kokrajhar, who flew from New Delhi via Guwahati and landed by an Air Force helicopter at Gambaribil High School playground around 10.15 am today.
He straightaway went to the relief camp of Bodo people at Gambaribil High School and interacted with the inmates to take stock of the situation.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhubaneswar Kalita also accompanied him.
Rahul also met leaders of various organizations, namely ABSU, BPF, including BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary, at Gambaribil.
The Congress leader also went to Kambalpur of Gossaigaon and visited the Kambalpur MV School relief camp from there he proceeded to Lakhiganj Madrassa relief camp near Bilashipara in Dhubri district and another relief camp at Basugaon of Chirang district.
