Process for OIL CMD’s selection still on
DIBRUGARH, Sept 9 - Obviously under express instructions of the Petroleum Ministry, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) today conducted interviews for the post of OIL CMD, but announced late this evening that more candidates need to be interviewed before anyone’s name can be recommended for the post.

Assam was expecting that the Centre would facilitate the appointment of Rupshikha Saikia Borah as the new chairman and managing director (CMD) of Oil India Limited (OIL), at today’s interview, conducted at New Delhi by PESB (Public Enterprises Selection Board). There were nine other candidates for the post, who appeared for the interview today.

They were, Gajendra Singh and Narendra Kumar from GAIL, Jaiveer Srivastava from Fertilisers & Chemicals Travancore Limited, RP Singh from Power Grid Corporation, Rakesh Kumar from Neyveli Lignite Corporation, NC Jain from Alstom India, C Kannan from Solar Energy Corporation, Rajiv Chopra from State Trading Corporation and CPS Bakshi from Engineering Projects India Limited. That the PESB found none of the ten candidates to be fit for OIL CMD has once again pointed to some sinister conspiracy in New Delhi. The PESB earlier last year had recommended the name of Rupshikha Saikia Bora for the post, but her appointment was cancelled by the Centre on vague grounds.
