Strike hits normal life in Manipur Correspondent IMPHAL, Sept 3 - The 48-hour general strike called by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) affected normal life in Manipur today. The strike was called by the JAC to demand justice for the girl student who was found dead at her school hostel in Imphal West district on July 18. The strike will end tomorrow morning.
Though no untoward incident was reported, markets, banks and educational institutions were closed during the day.
Attendance in government offices was also thin. Vehicles were also off the roads. The JAC has demanded the State Government to hand over the case to the CBI.
