Karnataka take massive lead

 GUWAHATI, Oct 29 - Karnataka took a massive 245-run first innings lead against Assam in the Ranji Trophy Group B match at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai today.

In reply to Assam’s first innings total of 325, Karnataka declared at 570 for nine. At close of the penultimate day Assam were 48 for one.

Resuming at 223 for two, Karnataka continued their devastating batting form as apart from Robin Uthappa (128), skipper Karun Nair (145) and Stuart Binny (156) cracked centuries. Stumper Chidhambaram Gautam (73) and Shreyas Gopal (35) also has reasonable contribution to the Karnataka total. International Binny took just 158 balls for his one-day like knock which was included 17 boundaries and three sixes.

Assam lost opener Rishav Das for 16 while Rahul Hazarika and skipper Gokul Sharma are batting with 25 and seven respectively.
