Gangtok-Nathula JNM Axis inaugurated by Rajnath Singh

 GANGTOK, Oct 26 - Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the strategic Alternate Alignment NH-310 (Gangtok to Nathula) JNM Axis built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Sikkim on Sunday. While addressing the e-inaugural function, Rajnath Singh credited the BRO for finishing this project in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. He dedicated the JNM Axis to the people of Sikkim and thanked the state for active co-operation towards timely completion of this project and expressed positivity that with support and synergy from all Indians, the country will truly progress.

 He congratulated the BRO for completing this important task with finesse and reaffirmed the commitment of the central government towards an all-out effort and focus on the judicious construction of roads, bridges and tunnels in the border regions of the country to improve connectivity and assist the defence forces and the locals during unforeseen circumstances. In conclusion, Rajnath Singh extended heartiest greetings to the people of Sikkim on the auspicious season of Dushera and Dipawali festivals.

Chief Minister PS Tamang (Golay), while speaking at the e-inauguration said that Sikkim is honoured to have been gifted this strategic road connecting Gangtok to Nathula and conveyed the acknowledgement of the Sikkimese people on this momentous day.

He reiterated the patriotism of the state and asserted that Sikkim and the Sikkimese stands with the country in every situation.

PS Tamang (Golay) said that he is filled with gratitude to witness the inauguration of the alternate road and that such infrastructural upgradations will facilitate connectivity and usher pragmatic and productive changes to the overall landscape of the state.
