GUWAHATI, Oct 26 – Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik has extended his heartiest greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the Idd-Uz-Zuha.
In a message here, the Governor laid stress on the importance of the free observance of all religious festivals in an auspicious manner in the spirit of joy and brotherhood maintaining the right balance between piety and gaiety.
He has appealed to all to uphold the long-cherished tradition of amity and communal harmony. He has urged the people to further strengthen the existing bond of fraternity.
All Assam Students’ Union and the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion of the Idd-Uz-Zuha. The festival will strengthen the bond of unity among the people of the region, they said in a joint statement here.
President of the regional Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Prafulla Kumar Mahanta has also extended greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the Idd-Uz-Zuha. Former AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary, working president of the party Atul Bora (Junior) and senior leader of the party Moidul Islam Bora have also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion.
The State unit of the Nationalist Congress Party, All Guwahati Students’ Union and the All Assam Markazi Jamiat Ulama have also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion.
