5 more deaths in Manipur

 IMPHAL, Oct 23 - Manipur has reported five more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, official sources said. The cumulative number of virus deaths in the State has touched 132.

 In the last 24 hours, five persons aged 73 years (a male from Churachandpur), 22 years (a male from Churachandpur), 50 years (a female from Chandel), 59 years (a female from Imphal East) and 59 years (a female from Imphal West) expired at home isolation, JNIMS, district hospital, Chandel, and RIMS, stated a COVID-19 common control room press release here.

In the past 24 hours, 154 civilians and two Central Armed Police Forces personnel were confirmed positive, the release said. The new COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed at 23 testing facilities in the State. Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, 169 persons were discharged from 15 COVID care facilities after they were found free from infection.

The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur is now 16,777, while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 4,083 and 12,562 respectively. The recovery rate is 74.87 per cent.
