Hyderabad A prevail over Assam A

 GUWAHATI, Oct 22 – Assam A suffered an innings and 136-run defeat at the hands of host Hyderabad in their CK Nayudu Trophy match.

On the final day of the four-day match at Hyderabad today, Assam were all out for 132 in 76 overs in their second innings. Assam A’s overnight score was 30 for three and today the remaining batsmen hardly could do anything. Tailender Samik Das was the top scorer with unbeaten 31 while Sib Sankar Roy and Roshan Basfor contributed 21 each. For the host team, VG Sharma was the wrecker- in-chief who came out with a rich haul of 6 wickets giving away 51 runs. AA Bhandari chipped in with 2 wickets. In next match, Assam A will play Haryana A at Haryana from October 26.

Brief scores: Assam 181 and 132 (Samik Das 31, Sib Sankar Roy 21, Roshan Basfor 21, VG Sharma 6/51, AA Bhandari 2/27). Hyderabad 1st innings 449.
