Minor tribal girl found murdered in Cachar, 2 held

 SILCHAR, Oct 19 - Cachar police on Friday arrested two persons accused of alleged rape and murder of a 17-year-old tribal girl hailing from Bagbahar village under Dholai PS.

According to police, the arrested persons have been identified as Moyna Das and Samiran Das, residents of the same village.

Police informed that the accused were arrested after sniffer dogs were brought in for investigation. The two arrested are being interrogated for more clues into the case.

It may be mentioned here that the arrested were made following an FIR filed by family members of the girl who was found missing on her way back to home from tution.

Meanwhile, Barak Valley Indigenous Ethnic Peopleís Co-Ordination Committee, a local NGO has alleged that the girl was raped and murdered. The NGO members met the family members of the victim and pressed strong demands for arresting the faces behind the crime.
