GUWAHATI, Oct 18 – A team of officials from the Kamrup Metro district administration yesterday met Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport director Ashok Verma and discussed various issues relating to the airport’s infrastructure, land and development projects.

The district administration team was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhusan Deb Choudhury, said an official statement.

The team undertook a visit of the airport area and inspected the guest house located there.

The ADC directed the Azara Circle Officer to remove all encroachments in the airport land, including shops and other buildings constructed illegally, so that work on expansion of the airport and other projects could be undertaken without any hindrance.

Choudhury assured the airport authority of all possible help by the district administration in smooth functioning and development of the biggest airport in NE.
