Arunachal virus tally crosses 13,000 mark

 ITANAGAR, Oct 17 - The COVID-19 tally of Arunachal Pradesh crossed the 13,000 mark with the detection of 198 more positive cases on Friday. The State’s caseload currently stands at 13,169, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here.

 On the other hand, 182 patients recovered from the disease on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 10,071. The recovery rate now stands at 76.46 per cent.

Of the fresh infections, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 72, followed by Changlang (25), West Siang (21), East Siang (19) and Tirap (10). Eight cases were reported from Lower Dibang Valley, six each from Upper Siang, Lower Subansiri and West Kameng, five from Namsai, four from Pakke Kessang, three each from Papumpare and Leparada, two each from Kamle, East Kameng, Longding and Siang, and one each from Upper Siang and Dibang Valley.

Of the new cases, 163 were found to be asymptomatic and 35 symptomatic, the bulletin added.

Arunachal Pradesh has presently 3,068 active cases, while 30 people have already succumbed to the deadly virus.

Of the total active cases, 867 are recuperating in various COVID care facilities across the State and 2,201 are under home isolation.

The Itanagar Capital Complex has the highest 1,441 active cases, followed by West Siang (334) and Changlang (182). The State has so far collected 2,89,502 samples for COVID-19 testing, including 2,507 on Friday.
