Employees’ body demands scrapping of new pension scheme
CITY CORRESPONDENT
GUWAHATI, Oct 17 - The All Assam Govt NPS Employees' Association demanded scrapping of National Pension Scheme (NPS) and to restore Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all government employees serving in the State.

Several steps have already been taken to alert the employees and memoranda submitted to the government with a demand to revive the OPS. However, no steps have been taken in this regard in the last two years, the Association said in a statement.

In view of this, the teachers, officers and other employees will perform a programme with the title 'Jibonor Suraxa- Surakhito Bardhyakya' in the State on October 21 under the banner of All Assam Govt NPS Employees' Association in support of all the organisations of government employees.

During the event, the members will hold placards in their respective offices. All the district units, groups and individuals will send a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam and the Prime Minister.
