Reshuffle in State police
 GUWAHATI, Oct 17 The Assam Government today effected a reshuffle in the Police Department and transferred three officers of the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP) and gave additional charge to an officer of the rank of additional Director General of Police.

The ADG in charge of the Special Operation Unit, Pallab Bhattacharya has been given the additional charge of police modernization.

The IGP in charge of Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD), SN Singh has been transferred and posted as the IGP, Law and Order. The IGP in charge of Central Western Range (CWR) GP Singh will take over as the IGP, BTAD, while, the present IGP (Law and Order) LR Bishnoi will take over as the IGP (CWR).

The officers are likely to take over their new postings before the ensuing Durga Puja festival, sources said.
