All India LIC Games ends


Medal winners, guests and officials of the All India LIC Games pose for photograph on the final day of the meet at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, on Tuesday.
 GUWAHATI, Oct 15 - The four-day All India LIC Games came to an end at the Sarusajai Sports Complex here today.

Around 450 sportspersons from all over the country took part in six events during last four days.

In the 10,000m run, Kalidas Hirave won gold medal while Jai Kumar and Aanu Mariam Jose clinched 400m gold in menís and womenís categories respectively.

LICís star sports performer S Apoorwah, current world carrom champion won gold medal in womenís singles category.

In team game, South Central Zone bagged the volleyball title defeating South Zone in the final.

In badminton, Siddharth and Leena Dhapre won the badminton menís and womenís singles titles respectively.

In the closing ceremony, LICís Managing Director Vipin Anand was present as chief guest.

Kiran Sahdev, Executive Director (HRD) offered the vote of thanks.
