|6 more virus deaths in Manipur|
IMPHAL, Oct 14 - Six persons have died due to COVID-19, while 301 new positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Manipur, taking the State’s total virus tally to 14,094 today, State Health Department sources said.
Six persons aged 73 years (male from Imphal West), 49 years (male from Imphal East), 73 years (male from Thoubal), 40 years (female from Kangpokpi), 50 years (male from Imphal East) and 88 years (male from Tamenglong) expired at the RIMS, JNIMS, Shija Hospitals and the district hospital of Tamenglong, stated Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, spokesperson of the State Health Department, in a press release this evening. The cumulative number of virus deaths in the State has touched 103.
In the past 24 hours, 281 civilians and 20 Central Armed Police Forces personnel have been confirmed positive, the release added. The new COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed at 21 testing facilities across Manipur. The positive cases from the general population are from 12 districts.
Seven among the civilian patients are returnees from other States, while the rest are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to COVID care facilities.
In the past 24 hours, 86 persons were discharged from nine COVID care facilities after they were found COVID-19 free following RT-PCR tests, the release stated.
The current numbers of active and recovered cases are 3,076 and 10,915 respectively, it added. The recovery rate is 77.44 per cent.
