"Very heavy rainfall" warning in Sikkim

 NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (PTI): As cyclonic storm Phailin moves to sub-Himalayan region in the next 48 hours, the MeT department today issued warning of "very heavy rainfall" in Sikkim.

MeT officials said parts of West Bengal -- Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri -- and Sikkim, all falling in sub-Himalayan region are expected to receive very heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.

The Teesta river catchment is also expected to receive heavy rains.
