Abhijit sets new record

 JORHAT, Oct 13 – Gunness World Record holder Abhijit Baruah has set another new record in boxing as the fastest boxer in the world by punching 329 times within a minute here at Jorhat Stadium today at about 10-45 am. The Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records offered recognition to Abhijit as the boxer with fastest hand speed in the world.

“No boxer in the world has ever punched so many times within a minute,” said Abhijit to this correspondent after his performance here.

Abhijit also told this correspondent that he is going to perform this again in London in December this year in front of the observers from the Gunness World Records.

Abhijit will make another attempt to set his name in India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records, Limca Book of Records and Gunness World Records tomorrow. In the morning at 6-30 o’clock tomorrow, he will start running for four hours continuously towards Sivasagar from Jorhat on National Highway 37, then start cycling for three hours, perform boxing for five minutes, run 200 meters with 40 kg weight on the back, run 200 mteres barefoot, perform push up and sit up for 20 times each without taking rest for a single moment within the whole course.
