|Prog on Sahityarathi’s birth anniv tomorrow|
GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - To mark the 155th birth anniversary of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa, the Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa Smriti Raksha Samiti will be holding a detailed programme in the city on October 14.
The day’s proceedings will begin with the lighting of 155 earthen lamps at the statue of the Sahityarathi at the Gauhati Club roundabout at 5 pm. It will be followed by a book release function at the Asam Sahitya Sabha office at 6.30 pm where the Assamese, Bengali, Deuri and Nepali translated versions of Deepak Kumar Panda’s Bezbaroa and Sambalpur will be released. Also, the mouthpiece of the Smriti Raksha Samiti will be released on the occasion.
Panda, who has been playing a key role in preserving the century-old heritage ‘Bezbaroa Houses’ at Sambalpur in Odisha, will also be present along with his wife.
