2 Chinese men held in Manipur
IMPHAL, Oct 12 - Two Chinese nationals were detained in Manipur for visiting the State without having the Protected Area Permit (PAP). However, they were released by the court, according to officials.

The Chinese nationals were detained at foreigner check post of Tulihal International Airport on October 7.

The two reportedly pleaded guilty when they were produced before a Court after three days police remand. The court released them after imposing a penalty of Rs 10,000 each. They left Imphal on Wednesday.

Police said the two came to Manipur on October 3 for visiting wellknown locations. Though both had proper visa and passports, they were not aware about PAP.

Citizens from Afghanistan, China and Pakistan require prior approval of Ministry of Home Affairs before their visit to Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland.
