GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - The Kamrup (Metro) district administration today announced that the sale of firecrackers in the city in the run-up to Diwali will be regulated and sellers must secure NoC from the authorities concerned.
“Diwali crackers cannot be just sold here and there without prior permission. Hence, both wholesalers and retailers have to take permission for selling crackers. We will be regulating it,” said Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu.
Dr Angamuthu said both wholesalers and retailers will have to secure permission from the Fire Department, the GMC, the police, the Pollution Control Board and the district administration.
“This is compulsory. No unauthorised selling will be allowed,” added the DC.
