Mary Kom to join Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

 IMPHAL, Oct 12 – Asian Games Gold medalist MC Mary Kom will join the Clean India Mission which was launched under the banner ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ by Prime Minister on October 2. Along with Mary Kom, her family and students of her boxing academy will also join the Abhiyan.

“Prime Minister has set a chain in motion by inviting nine individuals from different works of life”, said Jimmy Leivon, private secretary to five times world champion boxer. “Mary Kom has also been included in the chain to take the movement forward”, he added.

“She has also invited outstanding personalities of our country – Darshan Kumar (Bollywood Actor), Yogeshwor (Wrestler), Sushil Kumar (Wrestler), Heena Sidhu (Shooter), Sunil Chettri (Footballer) and others to join the mission,” he also said.

Mary Kom took up the PM’s initiative in Manipur after Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani invited her to join the move along with Sania Mirza and Amitabh Bachhan on October 8.
