Cleanliness drive at Fancy Bazar
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Oct 12 – As part of the nationwide Swachh Bharat campaign, residents from all sections under the aegis of Agarwal Sabha and Maharaja Agrasen Charitable Trust participated in a cleanliness drive at Fancy Bazaar, AT Road, Athgaon and Ganeshguri areas.

The people cleaned roads, by-lanes, footpaths and surrounding areas as part of the drive.

Kamup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu who attended the programme lauded the people for their enthusiasm in the campaign and urged them to make it a sustained exercise in order to be a long-term solution to the city’s filth and dirt.

“We need the people’s cooperation for keeping the city clean, as the municipal bodies alone cannot maintain its hygiene,” he said. President of Agarwal Sabha, Ram Avtar Agarwal said that the Sabha would undertake a project of setting up sufficient number of public toilets across Kamrup (Metro) district, initially beginning with 11 toilets in the city.
