JORHAT, Oct 10 - On the second day of the four-day Gunotsav programme under way from Monday in the district, several IAS, IPS and ACS officers and a legislator on Tuesday visited many schools as external evaluators.
Gunotsav is a quality enhancement initiative of the Government for bringing about improvement in learning level of students that was introduced last year.
A district administration source told this newspaper that Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Narayanan Konwar, Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Nimbulkar, Jorhat Development Commissioner Brojen Das, Additional Director General of Police Lungriading, SP rank officer Pradip Pujari, Secretary of Higher Education department Krishna Gohain and Teok MLA Renupama Rajkhowa visited several schools as external evaluators.
The source stated that the officials and the legislator interacted with the students and took note of several other spheres of the schools.
Gunotsav has been held in 1394 schools (Class II to IX) having 77977 students across the district.
The source said that the attendance of students was 97 per cent while teachers’ rate was 99 per cent on Monday.
