IMPHAL, Oct 9 - The 69th Territorial Army Day was observed at the 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion here today with Chief Minister N Biren Singh as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Territorial Army has been acting as an interface between the local populace, the Army and the Assam Rifles with distinction.
He said the Territorial Army unit stationed in Manipur has been making immense contribution to the State while carrying out their operational tasks with a human touch. Due to the activities of the Territorial Army, security forces have gained tremendous good will of the local population, Singh added.
In his presidential address, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Shyam lauded the Territorial Army for its sincere efforts towards building a good relationship with the local people.
