|Baby among 20 new patients in Mizoram|
AIZAWL, Oct 7 - A two-month-old baby was among 20 new COVID-19 patients detected in Mizoram during the last 24 hours.
An official release stated that following testing of 857 samples across Mizoram, 20 new cases of the novel coronavirus were detected. The new patients include seven Assam Rifles personnel and one BSF personnel.
Out of 140 samples tested at the Zoram Medical College RT-PCR laboratory, three positive cases were detected. Out of 74 samples tested at the TrueNat laboratories of district hospitals, ten new cases were detected, while after 643 samples were put to rapid antigen tests in different districts, seven cases were found, the release stated.
Of the 20 cases, nine were reported from Aizawl district, eight from Lunglei district and one each from Serchhip, Lawngtlai and Saitual, it said.
Except for seven patients who contracted the virus from local transmission, all the new patients have travel history.
The total cases of COVID-19 in Mizoram now stand at 2,148, out of which 261 are active. So far, 1,887 people have recovered from the disease in the State where the fatality rate is still zero.
