|Nat’l protocol on Ayurvedic, yogic solutions ends ambiguity over Covid management |
GUWAHATI, Oct 7 - The ‘National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga for the management of Covid-19’ is significant for the management of Covid-19, as it ends the ambiguity around deploying Ayurveda- and Yoga-based solutions for the clinical management of the disease.
Addressing a press meet at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Gastro Intestinal Disorders, Barsojai in the city on Tuesday, Dr B Venkateshwarlu, RO (Ay), In-charge of RARIGID, Guwahati, said that the protocol brought uniformity and consistency and clear guidance to practitioners of Ayurveda and Yoga in the management of Covid patients.
“The protocol consists of separate management guidelines for prophylactic care, asymptomatic Covid-positive cases, mild positive cases and for post-Covid management. It helps the State government to plan and incorporate these solutions into Covid-19 management which will be beneficial to the public and these are easily assessable and help alleviate the Covid-19 conditions,” Dr Venkatesh-warlu said.
He added that the protocol was expected to contribute to the mainstreaming of Ayush solutions for the management of Covid-19, “and will be immensely beneficial to the public since these solutions are easily accessible and will help alleviate the hardships brought in by the pandemic.”
The National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga for the management of Covid-19 was released jointly by Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences and Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of AYUSH and Minister of State for Defence, in New Delhi on Tuesday.
